Matthias Arter
is the artistic director CONVERGENCE, oboist and co-founder of pre-art
musician, composer, ensemble director, researcher for the history of interpretation, project manager: in his varied roles he always combines his skills with great knowledge of intercultural and transdisciplinary aspects. He teaches oboe, improvisation and ensemble/chamber music at the University of Arts Berne, plays as principal oboe in the Basel Chamber Orchestra as well as in the Collegium Novum Zurich and appears as a soloist on the following labels: col legno, en avant, Musikszene Schweiz, pan classics und Arte Nova. As a composer he recently published a portrait on NEOS which contains many of his solo pieces for different instruments.
Boris Previsic
flutist and co-founder of pre-art
studied with Felix Renggli (Basel) and Gilles Burgos (Paris); he is involved especially in contemporary and baroque music (on period flutes). After a first prize at the Swiss Flutist Competition 1998 he had many performances in Europe and the USA. Founder of SONEMUS in Sarajevo and co-founder of pre-art (together with Matthias Arter) in Switzerland. He is artistic director of many projects in the transdisciplinary and intercultural fields. He studied at the School of Theory and Criticism at Cornell University (thesis on Hölderlin’s rhythm in 2005). Post-Doc on „Balkan as a reflecion of European identity“. CD recordings at aeon, Wandelweiser and Gramofon.
Elias Kreyenbuehl
historian and member of pre-art
studied History and Media Studies in Basel and is currently finishing his PhD on the History of Color Photography in Boston/Cambridge, USA. He joined pre-art in 2006 with the organization of the third Safien Triennale, a three day art and music festival in the Swiss alps. Since then he is working with verve for all the pre-art projects.
