Our partner organization pre-art has been working since 2000 in virtually all countries in Southeastern Europe and the Caucasus. The work of pre-art encompasses collaborations with young composers, concert tours, material help (instruments and scores) as well as support with residencies in Switzerland. The aim is to foster young artists in order to give them the opportunity to gain international reputation as well as to establish themselves in their home countries.
Four years ago pre-art introduced the pre-art Competition for young composers. Prizes have been awarded to composers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Croatia, Kosova, Latvia, Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Usbekistan. The first-prize winners are usually invited to Switzerland for a residence, during which they can establish numerous and important contacts with music universities, ensembles and promoters.
