Workshop for young composers with Swiss composer Stefan Wirth
Location: Tbilisi, Georgia
Date: April 21th – 24th 2011
Content of the workshop:
- Analysis of Varèse’s Octandre and Webern’s Konzert op. 24; these works are part of the concert program of the Convergence New Music Ensemble.
- Composer’s presentations: each composer gets the opportunity of a presentation of one of his/her works, followed by an open discussion with Stefan Wirth.
- Individual work: additional to the official schedule it will be possible to work individually with Stefan Wirth.

Eligibility
The workshop is open for composers up to 32 years of age (born 1979 of later). It is sponsered by pre-art/CONVERGENCE with support of the Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne (Switzerland) and is therefore completely free of charge. pre-art/Convergence will pay up to 100 USD for the travel costs to Tbilisi and 20 USD/day as a per diem. Additionally, pre-art/CONVERGENCE provides all participants from abroad with accommodation in the Citadines Apart’Hotel (Freedom Square Tbilisi).

Each application will be answered within a few days. Please contact us again if you don’t receive any message. The definitive decision of admittance will be made by Stefan Wirth (course instructor) and Matthias Arter (artistic director Convergence New Music Center) and will be communicated by April 3rd.
